Key exclusions
- Unapproved hazardous cargoes (DRI/HBI fines, explosives, acids, bulk cement, liquid gas)
- Bills of Lading signed incorrectly ("as carrier" without authority)
- Wilful misconduct
- Unsafe loading/stowage ordered by charterer
- Liability arising from contract terms exceeding normal P&I exposure (unlimited liability, liquidated damages, penalties)
- Misdescription on B/L or delivery without original B/L
- Cargo valued > USD 2,500/unit unless approved
- Deck cargo unless claused correctly

Excluded zones
Iran, North Korea, Libya, Syria, Russia, Ukraine, Cuban and Venezuelan waters, and waters of the Black Sea and Sea of Azov (JWLA-030). Voluntary entry into banned areas voids coverage.
Special Conditions & Warranties
| Condition | Requirement |

| Bills of Lading | Westlink must not appear as Carrier unless authorised. Deck cargo must be claused "shipped on deck at shipper's/receiver's risk". |
| Excluded cargoes | Explosives, DRI/HBI fines, wet hides, bulk cement, acids, liquid gases — must be pre-approved by insurer. |
| Defence cargoes | International defence shipments require a CSQ form completed and approved by Underwriter. |
| Payment terms | Non-payment of premium = all claims can be rejected (before and after breach). |
| Vessels | Maximum 25 years of age, or held covered at agreed terms. |
| Incident reporting | All incidents must be reported promptly. No admission of liability without insurer approval. |
